About the Librarian
Carol Blix became Town Librarian in 2013 after 30 years as school librarian and teacher for the Wahkiakum School District. She has a BA in Art Education and a MLS from the University of Washington. In her time at Cathlamet Public Library she was instrumental in moving the library from temporary quarters in the River Street Building back to the library’s official quarters after it was renovated. She implemented use of the library’s Integrated Library System, Koha, and purchased computers, printers, laptops and mobile hotspots for public and library use. Until COVID she held preschool story times, children’s STEAM activity events, and adult author/poet/humanities speaker events. Every summer (except for 2020) Carol has provided Children’s Summer Reading Program events, 2021-2022 at Erickson Park. She enjoys reading, drawing, crafts, and gardening.
